Advanced Life Support Technician

Western Lane Ambulance is an Advanced Life Support (ALS) transporting ambulance service. Western Lane Ambulance supplies two ALS ambulances to Western Lane County. This position is for a Full Time Paramedic with employees assigned 48/96-shift schedule. The International Association of Firefighters represents this position. In addition to the above salary Western Lane Ambulance District has employer contributed PERS. Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance, and employer furnishes uniforms.

Responsibilites

  • Primary Care Provider on ALS transporting Ambulance.
  • Required training to maintain OR-Paramedic.
  • To work and function as a team member when responding and working with other crew members.
  • Working as part of a team while performing routine work assignments including apparatus and building maintenance, routine daily checks of apparatus, and other duties assigned by management

Potential Wages:
$44,729 to $61,553 annual salary

Located in the City of Florence on the beautiful Oregon coast, Western Lane Ambulance District covers approx. 850 square miles of Western Lane County. These Residents and visitors to the Oregon Coast enjoy an array of different attractions, Rhododendron festivals, Oregon Beaches, the Oregon Dunes, Historical Bay Street, The Siuslaw River are just a few of the many local attractions within the region. There are over 20 fresh water lakes, which are good for fishing, boating, and other recreational activities. Along with the many lakes the region supplies there are an abundance of hiking and bicycle trails to enjoy.

The City of Florence and its surrounding communities 16,000 residents is an ever-growing community. Recently Florence made headlines for one of the top places in America to retire. This publicity has brought an influx of new and diverse residents to the area. This has increased the housing demand and increased the size of the community, causing Western Lane Ambulance Districts call volume to dramatically increase.

Experience and Education
The candidate must have a current certification of Oregon-Paramedic or able to obtain an Oregon-Paramedic by the time of hire. Prior experience a plus but not required. A residency requirement may be required.
