This equipment gives the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) the ability to provide the latest in modern EMS in response to medical and/or trauma 911 calls. Western Lane's EMT paramedics can perform 12-lead EKG interpretations, Advanced Life Support to current Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) enthusiasts venture from all over the Northwest to enjoy riding the rugged sand dunes in Florence. That is why the Western Lane Ambulance District keeps two Sand Dune Rescue vehicles available at all times.
Western Lane's service technicians become trained to provide High/Low angle rope rescue. Florence's geographical location demands that its Ambulance District provide this specialized rescue service to log calls for stranded hikers and embanked motor vehicle accident victims.
In addition, Western Lane Ambulance District provides community education; including: Safe Kids, car seat installation clinics, youth helmet safety demonstrations, CPR & First Aid classes, health fairs, Seatbelt Diversion classes by the Police Department, and Trauma Medic Talk Tough.
